Approx. 8 meters high and 11 meters wide. It was named after the beautiful thin streams of cascading clear water which to one poet resembled the "tamasudare" flower (rain lily). The sound of the water is also one of the waterfall's special features. The Tamadare-no-Taki waterfall is distinguished from the other one by the sacred straw rope stretched across the falls.
In the rear of the garden, after climbing up between the two waterfalls, there is the "Tamadare-jinja Shrine" (founded during the Edo period) which is the only branch shrine of the Hakone-jinja Shrine and Kuzuryu-jinja Shrine.
With the God of Hakone as its main enshrined deity, the Tamadare-jinja Shrine is also dedicated to the Kuzuryu (9-Headed Dragon) God, Mizuhanome (Water Disaster Prevention) God, Inari Okami (Harvest) God, and the Ebisu (Prosperity) God. It is also worshipped as a shrine for household safety, business prosperity, and worldly success.
